World Cup Mobile App's

Now-a-day there is an application for just about anything. For you rare US Soccer fans, there are some good applications to stay on top of all the World Cup news. Goal.com is similar to many news applications, such as AP, ZDNet, & the NY Times applications. I am looking forward to FIFA creating an application, but haven't found the perfect one yet.

Google Gods

Google and it's wonderful operating system Android, has introduced Google TV. This is what I have been waiting for. With the increase in prices of cable companies, I have been researching for months on the most efficient way to do away with cable.
Most large cable and prime time channels allow you to watch their show a few days after the initial air date, but having live streaming tv, and not just news, would be a great addition. Firefox offers a free TV plug-in for your toolbar 'TV LIVE STREAM', but the features are limited. It does include Hulu & other live TV streaming options. There are also Satellite TV programs that are fairly inexpensive, and a one-time fee, as opposed to a monthly fee with cable.
Google has a great alternative in the works that will soon be available on new televisions, Blu-Ray players, and desk-top boxes. With the increase in popularity of the open-source operating system Android, Google is giving Microsoft and Apple a run for their money.Wired.com Article

Government Bailout Bullshit

Ok, so this isn't really any tech content, but I am a firm believer in a good education. It's the one thing you can never have taken away from you no matter how poor or your situation!

Our government is bailing out banks, auto companies and Wall St., but when it comes times for NY and NJ to tighten it's belt, they choose state funds and education? Where is the bailout for Education employees? Where are the large bonuses for the schools that have high graduate rates? I think our priorities are a bit out of whack in this country.

I don't think it is a great idea to cut school employee jobs at ALL! We are at the highest point of enrollment due to people losing their jobs and going back to school. Maybe we can use less money to subsidize corn and start making real food? Maybe we can stop this b.s. war? I can list a ton of other idea's on how we can easily save our schools and eliminate things we all don't need!

Is Apple trying to Play Judge & Jury?

If I get drunk & leave my phone or computer at a bar, it is my loss & the data lost would be my FAULT! I think Apple should bite the bullet that one of their developers f*ed up. I do not agree with a court giving permission to search the home of someone educated enough to understand the value of what was stumbled upon. All I can do is protect my technology so it can not be analyzed and hope that my security protections work, making the technology useless to it's finder.
I can't sue a deli for accidentally giving them a valuable rare penny, nor anyone that may have gotten it as change and realized the value.

Modern Hobo Codes

Finding open wireless connections out in the city can be tricky. But if you look for certain symbols you can find just that and other fun inside tips.

Microsoft Office Will Be Free on the Web

Microsoft Office has become a staple program for both Windows users and Mac users; soon it will be available for free as part of a Web application. This is the first time Microsoft will provide a completely free version and include web storage, making it easy to access documents anywhere. Businesses can create shared folders without the need for a centralized server or network.

The Bush's & Healthcare. Why can't we get rid of them?

We wonder why Republicans have so much animosity against Socialized health care reform? We all know insurance & drug companies are the big money makers, but who exactly is pocketing some of these funds? You know the Bush family has a hand in this piggy bank: NY Times: Behind the Agenda

It is amazing how most Americans would rather get sick in a foreign country than in our own. This past month a co-worker was stuck in Italy due to the volcano ash for a few weeks. During that time she had broken a tooth. She walked into a dentist, who fixed the tooth, gave her a temporary cap & refused to take a dime. I have had health & dental insurance almost my entire life, and I can't even leave my doctors office not shelling out, at minimum my co-pay (not including the monthly premiums)

We say that it would cost our country way too much money to give everyone health insurance, but doesn't unpaid medical bills (because people can't afford it), unhealthy citizens from lack of medical care, and a decline in age expectancy in our children in decades cost our country more in the long run?
